Blanding Free Public Library provides access to shared resources and provides guidance to members of the public in their pursuit of information, entertainment, and connection.
Library Cards.
You’re eligible for a free SAILS eCard (which can also be upgraded to a physical library card) if you live in a participating Massachusetts municipality and are 13 years of age or older. Once you have a SAILS eCard, you may borrow from Blanding Free Public Library as well as any library in the SAILS network. You may apply online or in person. When applying in person at Blanding Free Public Library, please bring a photo ID and proof of address. If you are under 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign your application.

Borrowing Privileges.
Most books can be checked out for four weeks and are eligible for one renewal of another four weeks. Visit sailsinc.org for the full library catalog.
Materials that can be checked out for two weeks and are eligible for one renewal of another two weeks include:
- New adult fiction books
- DVDs
- CD
- Books on CD
- Puppet kits
- VOX books
Technology Services.
The Library offers:
- 4 computer workstations, available to the public
- Black-&-white and color printers (print-outs cost 25¢ per page)
- A document scanner
- Photocopy services
- WiFi throughout the building and parking lot
Digital Resources.
In addition to our print and media collections, the Library provides access to several digital resources, including:
- Ebooks and audiobooks from Overdrive
- A collection of research databases
- Tumblebook Library, animated talking picture books for younger readers with fiction, non-fiction and foreign language titles, math stories, read-alongs, videos, TumbleTV, and Tumble Puzzles & Games

Museum Passes.
Blanding Free Public Library offers free or reduced admission to several museums and cultural attractions around southern New England.
You can view available passes, pass details, place reservations, and receive email reminders about your passes through our online museum pass reservation site.
