Children’s Programs.

Children’s programming at Blanding Free Public Library contributes to our young visitors’ development, literacy, and integration into their community. We promote early literacy and a lifetime love of reading, support educational development, help develop social and emotional skills, and foster creativity and imagination. The library is a safe and inclusive space where all are welcome.  Join us!

Summer Reading Program

When: Every summer from the end of the school year until the 3rd week in August

The Library designs summer reading challenges for patrons of all ages, from reading logs and brag tags for our younger patrons, to a Massachusetts Student Reading Challenge for elementary students, and a statewide book list of award nominees for both preteens and young adults.  We also plan fun activities and entertainment during summer reading, so make sure to check our programs and events calendar for upcoming events!
